From Queensway to Cheltenham

The Park in Queensway is a Jeremy King venture so has the usual vaguely art deco-style room, an appealing menu, well-drilled staff and food that is not quite up to the level of the price.  It was packed out, showing that the very experienced and suave Mr King has an extremely shrewd idea of his audience. A lemon tart was the pick of the dishes.

Lumiere in Cheltenham has held a Michelin star for many years, and this was my second time there. The food had actually improved from my previous visit, and we had an excellent all-round meal. A venison main course in particular was outstanding but the overall standard was consistently high. Cheltenham is lucky to have such a restaurant.
