The decor in this large dining room seemed to me rather cluttered, with assorted oriental knick-knacks on every spare bit of wall. The menu was very large, even by Cantonese standards. Hot and sour soup was nicely made and had a lively chilli bite to it, as well as avoiding being too oily (12/20). Bak choy was nicely steamed though the garlic it was with subtle to the point of invisibility.
Steamed sea bass was filleted at the tables and cooked through well enough, cooked chilli and ginger (12/20). Szechuan prawns were cooked correctly though were a little bland, which indeed seemed a feature of the meal. Even the chilli sauce I asked for turned out to be mild! Service was fine. A pleasant meal, though less good than the nearby branch of Royal China.
