The Singapore Garden has been a long-reliable fixture in this unpromising part of London. It is a simple neighbourhood restaurant, but the cooking is better than you might expect. Fish is handled well, and the menu has a seasonally changing element to reflect ingredients. Vegetables are treated with a suitably light touch. There was even a good wine list.
