Aqua closed in mid 2010. Although its two Michelin stars seemed generous I enjoyed my meals there in the past, rating it 16/20.
A seafood restaurant that successfully combines atmosphere with excellent cooking. The kitchen here does not over-reach itself but instead concentrates on fresh ingredients and an appealing menu – sounds simple, but how few places actually succeed in doing this? This formula has led to considerable commercial success that makes it hard to get a table, which is the main drawback. Service is good and there is a good wine list, with plenty of Californian selections.

Aqua has closed and may open again in a different location. The space (and fantastic decor) has been taken over by Michael Mina, who will do a Restaurant Michael Mina spin-off in the space.
